About Domain – History

Kaisouroku.org was purchased on January 11th, 2006 and first came online later that month. It started out as a network site, but changed to a blog later on in 2006. The domain itself served as a blog and a host for my other sites from mid 2006 to december 2008 when I decided to move my blog to a subdomain and revert the domain itself to network status. This is somewhat due to a decreased interest in blogging and the fact that I tend to use my livejournal more.

Throughout the three years Kaisouroku has been up it’s gone through three revamps and around 35 layout changes. The site has been ran using WordPress since december of 2006.

About Domain – Name

At first I really didn’t know what to name my domain. I wanted a domain, but I had never really given thought to what I’d name it. That said, I did what I normally did when I can’t decide on a good name for something; open up iTunes and look at song titles!

Kaisouroku is a track on the AIR ost and I thought it was a pretty word, so I decided to look up the meaning. The word “kaisou” (回想) translates to memoirs or reminiscence while the word “roku” (録) means something along the lines of a record/archive. I liked the sound of it, so that’s basically how the “kaisouroku” part was decided.

As for the .org part, I was very adamant that didn’t want a .com domain. I originally wanted a .net domain, but “kaisouroku.net” just didn’t sound right to me. That’s basically how I ended up with .org. You have to admit, “kaisouroku.org” does have a nice ring to it~

About Domain – Purpose

Kaisouroku’s purpose is still the same as it was when I bought it. To serve as a creative outlet and host for any other sites I own or decide to open. I never wanted to host people, but I’ve made exceptions for close friends.
